Max Verstappen took another significant step towards his second world championship after winning the Dutch Grand Prix ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc.
Verstappen took the victory following a late Safety Car restart in which he had to overtake Lewis Hamilton for the lead. In a scenario not dissimilar to last year's title decider in Abu Dhabi, Mercedes left Hamilton out on old tyres while the majority of the field behind him pitted.
The advantage of fresher tyres allowed Verstappen to cruise past his 2021 title rival when the race restarted as Hamilton plummeted to fourth by the finish.
