Bagnaia bites back in brilliant battle at Assen
Assen, 25 June 2023

The reigning Champion sends a clear message to his rivals, with Bezzecchi 2nd and Aleix Espargaro 3rd as Binder loses out on ANOTHER top 3.

A lot was riding on the Motul TT Assen as Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) went from struggling for form in Practice 1 to adding another win to his 2023 title tilt, outpacing Tissot Sprint winner Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) on Sunday.

Bezzecchi went into the Grand Prix race as the rider to beat with incredible pace around the Assen circuit, but was forced to settle for second place on Sunday. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) once again crossed the line in third but was demoted out of the top three for exceeding track limits, this time on the last lap, which promoted Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) into third to take an important Grand Prix podium.

Verstappen wins Canadian GP to claim Red Bull’s 100th victory
Montreal          [18 June 2023]

Max Verstappen made it six victories from eight races in 2023 with a dominant display during Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix, leading home the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton, as Red Bull maintained their 100% winning record for the season so far.

Verstappen’s lights-to-flag triumph also gave Red Bull their 100th victory in the sport, 18 years on from the team’s debut, while the Dutchman made more history by drawing level with the legendary Ayrton Senna on 41 wins – extending his championship lead in the process.

Alonso and Hamilton traded places on multiple occasions throughout the race, Hamilton getting the jump at the start but falling back behind when the strategies unfolded, meaning it was the Spaniard who finished runner-up to the record-setting Verstappen.

Mugello explodes as Bagnaia takes home victory with Ducati
Mugello, 11 June 2023

The Italian fans were up on their feet at the Italian GP as their home hero led the way to a Ducati podium lock-out.

Sunday at the Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley is a day that Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) will keep fondly in his memory, as the Italian did the double in Mugello – from pole – and extended his Championship advantage from one single point to a very healthy 21.

Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) kept the Italian honest from start to finish but didn't quite have enough to topple the number 1 as he was forced to settle for second, although only a second back. The battle for third raged on all race long, finally seeing Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing) fly through the field to take P3 and deny Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) a home podium.

Max Verstappen eases to win in Spain
Catalunya          [4 June 2023]

Max Verstappen strengthened his already commanding F1 title lead with a dominant victory at the Spanish Grand Prix ahead of the Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

Verstappen's lead was only challenged at Turn 1, when Ferrari's Carlos Sainz got alongside him, but he cantered away into the distance after that. The reigning champion crossed the finish line 24 seconds clear of 2021 title rival Hamilton.

Verstappen's victory was complete with the bonus point for fastest lap, moving him 53 points clear of Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez, meaning he could retire from the next two F1 races and still lead the championship.
