Why Carlos Sainz shone and Red Bull got it wrong at the Singapore Grand Prix
Marina Bay          [17 September 2022]

Red Bull's record-breaking run of victories was always going to come to an end eventually, and with it there was always going to be a heady mix of drama and emotions.

Carlos Sainz's victory in Singapore was special for many reasons, but above all else because the idea of anyone other than a Red Bull driver winning this season had seemed so remote for so long.

Red Bull's sudden and unexpected loss of performance in Singapore (more on that later) presented rival teams with a rare opportunity to win, and in the final laps there were four drivers from three different teams queuing up to make the victory theirs.

Pitch perfect Martin doubles up in Misano to cut title chase deficit
San Marino, 10 September 2023

Pole, Sprint and a Sunday race win came the way of the Spaniard as wounded Bezzecchi and Bagnaia complete the San Marino podium.

Pole position, Tissot Sprint win and a Sunday race victory. Jorge Martin’s (Prima Pramac Racing) weekend at the Gran Premio Red Bull di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini couldn’t have gone any better as the Spaniard made no mistake to take maximum points on his title rival’s stomping ground. The winning margin over second place Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) was 1.3s over the line as World Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) fights through the pain to claim an important third.

Just like he did in the Tissot Sprint, Martin got a perfect launch and pocketed the holeshot as Bezzecchi and Bagnaia slotted in behind. Dani Pedrosa (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) got away well again and was up to P4, as the MotoGP™ Legend held on after a moment between Turn 1 and 2. Bagnaia then picked his way past Bezzecchi at Turn 3 as the #1 immediately began to hound Martin.

Verstappen makes it a record 10 in a row as Red Bull take 1-2 in Monza
Monza          [3 September 2023]

Max Verstappen claimed a record 10th consecutive F1 victory at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday to move clear of the tally set by Sebastian Vettel in 2013.

The Red Bull driver, who equaled Vettel's mark in front of a home crowd at the Dutch Grand Prix seven days ago, overtook Carlos Sainz on Lap 14 to deny Ferrari a win in Italy.

Verstappen is unbeaten since the Miami Grand Prix in May and is on course to clinch his third straight championship at the Qatar Grand Prix on Oct. 8, at which point there will still be five races remaining. The Monza win was his 12th from 14 races this season, putting him on pace to break the single-season record of 15 he set in 2022.

A. Espargaro wins at home as Bagnaia's title tilt takes sudden blow
Catalunya, 3 September 2023

The Aprilia Captain put on a perfect display to take his first victory at his home circuit.

Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) grew up a mere five-minute drive from the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and today he made history at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya as he led a historic Aprilia 1-2 over the line. Teammate Maverick Viñales led for much of the race before being caught, stalked and then passed by his teammate, but it marked a milestone day for the Noale factory. Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) completed the podium after some solid pace for third.

Before that, drama on a first start saw a multiple-rider crash at Turn 1, right before a highside out the lead for reigning Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team). Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) couldn't avoid the #1 but after examination at the medical centre and the General Hospital of Catalunya, Bagnaia was confirmed to have suffered no fractures in the incident.

Verstappen overcomes wet-weather chaos to make it a hat-trick of Dutch GP wins
Zandvoort          [27 August 2023]

Max Verstappen converted pole position into victory at the Dutch Grand Prix for the third year in a row, navigating an action-packed, rain-hit encounter to take the chequered flag ahead of Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly and draw level with Sebastian Vettel on nine successive F1 wins.

It all began with spits of rain before the start of the race that dramatically turned into a shower on the first lap, prompting split strategies up and down the order as Verstappen headed a pack of drivers who initially stayed out on slicks and team mate Perez led a group into the pits to take on intermediates.

What followed was a frenetic opening phase as those who made an early switch to intermediates rose to the fore, while those who stayed out longer on slicks lost a hatful of positions, prior to the rain easing off and the track gradually drying up.

Unbeatable Bagnaia wins to complete perfect weekend in Austria
Spielberg, 20 August 2023

The #1 was in a league of his own on Sunday as Binder and Bezzecchi complete the Red Bull Ring podium.

Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) capped off a perfect weekend at the CryptoDATA Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich by dominating Sunday’s MotoGP™ race to bring up a half-century of Grand Prix podiums for the World Champion. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) gave the Austrian factory something to cheer about by bringing his RC16 home in P2, as Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) rebounded from Tissot Sprint disappointment to climb onto the rostrum.

Just like he did in the Tissot Sprint, Bagnaia launched incredibly to comfortably grab the holeshot ahead of Binder. Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) was away well – as usual – to propel himself up to P3, as Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) went backwards again. It wasn’t a terrible getaway from 'Top Gun' but Viñales got swarmed at Turn 1, as Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) lit up the rear end on the exit of Turn 1 as he and Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) gained places.

The Aprilia "Captain" timed it to perfection to pip Pecco on the final lap with Marco Bezzecchi crashing out.

MotoGP™ came back with a bang as the Monster Energy British Grand Prix delivered enthralling and unpredictable racing action that left fans unable to look away. With spots of rain falling towards the end of the race, Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) mastered the changing conditions to put himself in the perfect position for a last-lap attack on Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team).

The Italian led the majority of the race with Espargaro able to get a good look at the factory Ducati ahead, and he pounced late on for Aprilia's second ever premier class win. Reigning Champion Bagnaia will be happy to take 20 points, however, as his title rival Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) crashed out whilst following Bagnaia in 2nd place. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) had his hands full with the Aprilias of Maverick Viñales and Miguel Oliveira (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP™ Team ) as the South African fought hard to bring home 3rd place.

Max Verstappen recovered from a five-place gearbox penalty to claim his eighth successive victory in Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix, with team mate Sergio Perez adding to the celebrations for Red Bull as he completed a one-two result.

Verstappen gradually picked off his rivals across a tense 44-lap encounter at Spa-Francorchamps, taking P1 after Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc had started the race on pole. The championship leader then kept his car on the track during a mid-race shower that threatened to – but did not quite force – a move from slick tyres to intermediates.

Perez also worked his way past Leclerc to come home in the runner-up spot, crossing the line some 20 seconds behind Verstappen and giving Red Bull their first perfect result since the Miami Grand Prix back in May.

Max Verstappen stormed to victory over Lando Norris and Sergio Perez with another commanding performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix, giving the reigning double world champion his seventh straight triumph and the Red Bull their 12th in a row – beating McLaren’s long-standing record.

Verstappen passed pole-sitting Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton at the start before settling into the lead and pulling clear of the chasing pack with aplomb, chalking up a lights-to-flag win that puts further distance between himself and team mate Perez in the drivers’ standings.

It means Red Bull continue their 100% winning run for the 2023 season, while setting a new outright milestone in terms of successive race wins, with their staggering tally now one clear of the 11 McLaren achieved with Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost during the 1988 campaign.

Max Verstappen eased to a 99-point lead in this year's Formula One championship with victory at the British Grand Prix, as Lando Norris held off fellow Briton Lewis Hamilton for second place on home turf.

The Red Bull driver held a 3.8-second lead over Norris at the chequered flag, with Hamilton a further 2.9s off in third.

The victory was Red Bull's 11th in a row, matching the record set by the dominant McLaren team in 1988, and means Verstappen could finish in second place at all the remaining races and still secure the title. Teammate Sergio Perez, who remains his closest title rival, finished sixth at Silverstone.

However, the top three were not affected, meaning Max Verstappen retained his seventh victory of the season ahead of Charles Leclerc in second and Sergio Perez in third.

Assen, 25 June 2023

The reigning Champion sends a clear message to his rivals, with Bezzecchi 2nd and Aleix Espargaro 3rd as Binder loses out on ANOTHER top 3.

A lot was riding on the Motul TT Assen as Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) went from struggling for form in Practice 1 to adding another win to his 2023 title tilt, outpacing Tissot Sprint winner Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) on Sunday.

Bezzecchi went into the Grand Prix race as the rider to beat with incredible pace around the Assen circuit, but was forced to settle for second place on Sunday. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) once again crossed the line in third but was demoted out of the top three for exceeding track limits, this time on the last lap, which promoted Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) into third to take an important Grand Prix podium.

Max Verstappen made it six victories from eight races in 2023 with a dominant display during Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix, leading home the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton, as Red Bull maintained their 100% winning record for the season so far.

Verstappen’s lights-to-flag triumph also gave Red Bull their 100th victory in the sport, 18 years on from the team’s debut, while the Dutchman made more history by drawing level with the legendary Ayrton Senna on 41 wins – extending his championship lead in the process.

Alonso and Hamilton traded places on multiple occasions throughout the race, Hamilton getting the jump at the start but falling back behind when the strategies unfolded, meaning it was the Spaniard who finished runner-up to the record-setting Verstappen.

Monaco          [28 May 2023]

Max Verstappen kept Red Bull’s 2023 winning record intact by overcoming a rain shower – and the chaos that ensued – in the closing stages of the Monaco Grand Prix, leading home Aston Martin rival Fernando Alonso and the Alpine of Esteban Ocon.

Verstappen made a clean getaway when the race began to maintain his pole position advantage over Alonso into the first corner, with the Red Bull opting for medium starting tyres and the Aston Martin going for hards.

But as the race developed and their planned one-and-only stops approached, a rain shower hit the track to turn the encounter on its head, causing a flurry of off-track excursions, brushes with the barriers and pit lane activity.

Fernando Alonso's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix podium reinstated after review
Jeddah          [19 March 2023]

Fernando Alonso has regained his third-place finish in the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after Aston Martin requested a Right of Review on Sunday night…

Alonso briefly led the race in the opening laps but was soon handed a five-second penalty for lining up outside his grid slot. However, the two-time champion was then handed a further 10-second penalty for not serving the first penalty correctly, which dropped him out of the podium places and promoted Mercedes' George Russell to P3.

The stewards originally ruled that, due to the rear jack touching the car prior to the five seconds having elapsed, the penalty had not been served correctly.

Red Bull enjoyed a perfect start to the season in the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix as Max Verstappen cruised to victory over team mate Sergio Perez – while Fernando Alonso finished third as Charles Leclerc retired from the race.

Max Verstappen won the race, but the Bahrain Grand Prix belonged to Fernando Alonso. Alonso's podium on his Aston Martin debut not only showed the excitement around the team's car was justified (if not slightly overblown at points this week), but has also seen one of the most talented drivers of the modern Formula One era propelled back into a competitive position.

Fernando Alonso, the grid's oldest and most experienced driver, is so much fun to watch when he's in a competitive car, and Sunday evening was no different.
