Max Verstappen claims record 14th win of season in Mexico
Hermanos Rodriguez          [30 October 2022]

Max Verstappen became the first ever Formula One driver to win 14 races in a season with an easy victory at the Mexican Grand Prix.

Verstappen, 25, who wrapped up his second world championship at the start of the month, led away from pole position and never looked likely to lose the victory.

He has now surpassed the shared tally of 13 set by Michael Schumacher (2004) and Sebastian Vettel (2013) in what has been an utterly dominant season.

Red Bull claims first F1 constructors' title since 2013
COA          [23 October 2022]

Red Bull has won the Formula One constructors' championship for the first time since 2013, ending Mercedes' run of eight straight titles.

The championship was secured at the U.S. Grand Prix, with three races to spare, a day after company founder and team owner Dietrich Mateschitz died aged 78.

Max Verstappen, who won the drivers' title two weeks ago at the Japanese Grand Prix, clinched it in style, winning for the 13th time this season.

Bagnaia wins, Quartararo P3: title race heads to Valencia!
Sepang, 23 October 2022

The Italian fends off Bastianini in Malaysia to claim a seventh win of the season, but it wasn’t enough to clinch the MotoGP™ title.

The 2022 MotoGP™ World Championship title race will be decided at the season finale in Valencia, despite Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) claiming a magnificent seventh win of the campaign at the PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia.

Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) made Pecco and Ducati sweat to finish a close second, as a fabulous effort from reigning World Champion Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) saw the Frenchman claim P3 to take his title defence to the wire.

Rins wins a Phillip Island epic as Quartararo crashes out
Phillip Island, 16 October 2022

Suzuki back on the top step of the podium in a thriller as Bagnaia takes over the Championship lead.

Alex Rins has seized victory in an Animoca Brands Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix which will go down as one of the all-time great MotoGP™ races. Not only did the Spaniard perhaps give Team Suzuki Ecstar one last win before the Hamamatsu marque sadly leaves us at season’s end, a crash for Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) gifted the World Championship leader to Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) with just two races left in 2022.

Still, it could have been even worse for the Frenchman considering Bagnaia led a topsy-turvy encounter at the start of the final lap only to be passed by both Rins and Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team), the latter of whom scored a 100th MotoGP™ podium by finishing second at Phillip Island.

Max Verstappen wins F1 title with four races to spare
Suzuka          [9 October 2022]

Max Verstappen capped a sublime Formula One season with a similar performance at the Japanese Grand Prix to clinch his second straight championship.

Verstappen's win gave him a place in the record books as he secured one of F1's most dominant championship wins. Verstappen led the Suzuka race from start to finish but did not realize he had won the championship after taking the checkered flag.

As it turned out, Verstappen won his title thanks to teammate Sergio Perez being elevated above Charles Leclerc moments after the race. Leclerc ran wide at the final corner defending from Perez, then forced the Mexican driver wide as they raced to the finish line, earning himself a five-second penalty in the process.

Sergio Perez keeps Singapore win despite safety car infringements, penalty
Marina Bay          [2 October 2022]

Sergio Perez has held on to his victory at the Singapore Grand Prix despite breaching safety car regulations on three occasions during the race and getting a five second penalty.

The stewards investigated Perez for falling more than ten car lengths behind the safety car under the race's two safety car periods. He was reprimanded for the first instance under the first safety car, warned in real time for the second incident under the second safety car and then penalised five seconds when he did it for a second time under the second safety car.

The five second penalty, which was added on to his race result, meant he still retained his lead in the final classification as he finished the race 7.5 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc in second place, meaning the adjusted victory was by 2.5s.

Oliveira wins as Bagnaia slashes Quartararo’s points lead
Chang, 2 October 2022

There is everything to play for in the World Championship after a thrilling Thai GP at a wet Buriram.

Miguel Oliveira has mastered the rain again! Just as he did in Round 2 in Indonesia, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing pilot took victory in ultra-challenging conditions in the OR Thailand Grand Prix. The Ducati Lenovo Team claimed second and third at the Chang International Circuit, with Jack Miller giving it his all in a bid to make it two MotoGP™ race wins in a row but coming up just 0.730 seconds short, and Francesco Bagnaia taking a precious podium.

Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing) clinched fourth when he held off Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) at the chequered flag after 25 unbelievable laps. But for Bagnaia, the good news continues. He is now just two points behind World Championship leader Fabio Quartararo with three races to go after the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ rider finished 17th and scored a ‘zero’.
