Quartararo claims emotional Italian GP victory
Mugello, 30 May 2021

The Frenchman extends his World Championship lead and dedicates the win to Jason Dupasquier; Oliveira and Mir complete the podium.

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Fabio Quartararo claimed a commanding and emotional Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley victory to extend his World Championship lead to 24 points, as Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) crashed out on Lap 2. Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and reigning World Champion Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar) completed the Mugello podium.

Eventually, Quartararo broke the slipstream of Zarco heading onto Lap 5 after making good progress on the twisty part of the circuit, and from there, the Yamaha star was able to edge clear of Zarco in second place. By Lap 11 his lead was up to 2.7s over second place Zarco, who had Oliveira clinging onto his tailpipes. Comfortably lapping in the 1:47s, Quartararo was in a league of his own at Mugello and took a third win of the season by 2.5s, a victory dedicated to the late Jason Dupasquier.

Flawless Verstappen dominant as Mercedes and Ferrari drop the ball at Monaco GP
Monaco          [23 May 2021]

Max Verstappen's first Monaco Grand Prix victory has put him into previously uncharted territory in Formula One -- he now leads the world championship.

His flawless and dominant performance came as Ferrari let a golden opportunity slip through its fingers, while Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas both had races they will want to forget in a hurry.

For this first time since 2013, Red Bull is leading both the drivers' and constructors' championships. Max Verstappen's victory in Monaco provided an 18-point swing against Lewis Hamilton's seventh place and fastest lap, meaning he now has a four-point lead over the reigning champion after five races, while Red Bull took 30 points out of Mercedes, giving it a one-point lead in the constructors'.

Miller wins wild flag-to-flag French GP
Le Mans, 16 May 2021

Despite two long-lap penalties, it's two wins in a row for the Aussie as Zarco and Quartararo hand France a dream double podium.

If you like your Sunday afternoons to be packed with pulsating drama and unrelenting action, then it doesn’t get any better than the 2021 SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France. In a rare flag-to-flag race, Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) – despite two long-lap penalties – became the first Australian since Casey Stoner in 2012 to win back-to-back races in the premier class to lead home a double French podium at Le Mans. Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) sprayed the bubbly on the famous rostrum in an unforgettable MotoGP™ encounter.

It was dry for the time being though and as expected, Miller propelled his Ducati off the line excellently and grabbed the holeshot from third on the grid, with both Viñales and Quartararo holding firm to stay inside the top three as Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) had two bites of the cherry for P4 against Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu). First Turn 7, then Turn 8.

Late pass secures Hamilton victory in Spain after race-long battle with Verstappen
Catalunya          [9 May 2021]

An incredible, tense race-long battle between Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton saw Hamilton triumph for his sixth Spanish Grand Prix win, the reigning world champion brilliantly executing a two-stop strategy to claim his third win in four races this season, as Verstappen finished ahead of the second Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas.

Verstappen led the majority of the race after brilliantly snatching the lead from Hamilton into Turn 1 at the start, with Red Bull then committing to a one-stop strategy around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, as Hamilton opted for two.

But with six laps to go, Hamilton used the superior performance of his newer tyres to pass the Dutchman into Turn 1 and check out for his 98th victory, and fifth straight win at the circuit – Verstappen ultimately deciding to pit for softs once Hamilton was past and go for a consolation fastest lap, which he duly got.

Miller stuns in Jerez to silence the doubters in style
Jerez, 2 May 2021

The Thriller cashed in on Fabio Quartararo's issues to take a first MotoGP™ victory since the 2016 Dutch TT.

He was written off and slated from every angle after a turbulent start to 2021. But Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) silenced every single one of those critics by shocking the two-wheeled world and taking an unlikely win at the Red Bull Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Australian was the ultimate opportunist as he pounced all over a serious problem that saw Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) fall from a comfortable two second lead to outside the top ten in just a handful of laps. Joining Miller on the podium was new MotoGP™ World Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia, making it the first Ducati 1-2 in three years, and Petronas Yamaha SRT's Franco Morbidelli.

Hamilton beats Vertsappen and Bottas to win in Portugal
Autódromo          [2 May 2021]

Lewis Hamilton took his second win of the 2021 season after beating Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas to victory at the Portuguese Grand Prix.

Hamilton dropped as low as third place after being overtaken by Verstappen on lap seven following an early safety car, but fought his way back past the Red Bull and Bottas to secure the lead on lap 20.

Hamilton's move on Bottas was particularly impressive, taking his teammate around the outside of Turn 1 to secure a lead over his rivals, which he retained to secure victory 46 laps later.
