How 'original hype man' Will Smith spurred Lewis Hamilton to a final win in 2018.
Yas Marina          [25 November 2018]

Lewis Hamilton credited an unconventional spot of preparation with "big brother" Will Smith for his victory at the final race of the Formula One season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Hamilton, crowned champion for the fifth time in October, invited his friend Smith to the race as the Hollywood actor had put attending a Formula One grand prix with the British driver on his bucket list.

The two men were front and centre for the pre-race drivers' parade and Smith continued to play a starring role in the broadcast, running across the track with a green flag before the start and trying his hand at working a trackside camera.

A dramatic season finale saw 'Race 1' red-flagged as Ducati rider claims P1 after re-start, Rins takes P2 and Espargaro gets emotional P3.

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) claimed the final MotoGP™ victory of 2018 at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana finish ahead of Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) and Pol Espargaro (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) in a hugely dramatic two-part race.

The red flags came out after 14 laps as heavy rain fell, with several riders crashing out of contention, including World Champion Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda Team) and Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) – riders ok.

Hamilton wins in Brazil after Verstappen punted out of lead.
Interlagos          [11 November 2018]

Lewis Hamilton won an action-packed Brazilian Grand Prix after Max Verstappen crashed out of the lead following a collision with a lapped backmarker.

The result of the race secured the constructors' championship for Mercedes, but the main talking point after the chequered flag was how Verstappen missed out on victory.

Räikkönen took third place after Ferrari struggled for pace throughout the race. The Finn had to battle hard to hold off Daniel Ricciardo in the final laps of the race and crossed the line 0.429s ahead of the second Red Bull. Bottas ran as high as second on the opening lap of the race but dropped to fifth by the chequered flag as he struggled with tyre degradation. Vettel also had a race to forget as he dropped from second on the grid to sixth at the finish.

Victory number 70 for the seven-time Champion comes after 'The Doctor' crashes with four laps to go...

Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda Team) claimed his 70th career win after taking victory at the Shell Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix. The 2018 Champion looked set to lock horns with nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP), but the race would end in disaster for ‘The Doctor’, as Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) and Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) completed the podium at the Sepang International Circuit.

When the lights went out it was Rossi who got a stellar launch from P2, with pole man Zarco slightly sluggish off the line – ‘The Doctor’ got a comfortable holeshot, with Zarco managing to brake late to slot into P2. Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Racing) was able to leapfrog Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar) into P3 at the start, with Márquez making up one position in P6.
