Hamilton eases to Hungary win, Vettel survives Bottas clash for second.
Hungaroring          [29 July 2018]

Lewis Hamilton took his fifth win of the season with victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix as title rival Sebastian Vettel and teammate Valtteri Bottas came to blows on track behind him.

In a race dominated by tyre strategy, Hamilton converted Saturday's hard-earned pole position into 25 world championship points with a faultless race from the front. Meanwhile, Vettel, who started fourth on the grid, saw his shot at victory using an alternative strategy fall apart with a slow pit stop on lap 39, keeping him in third place behind Bottas when he emerged from his pit stop with 31 laps remaining.

Bottas, who was on much older and harder tyres than Vettel, held off the Ferrari until lap 66 when his the Mercedes' rubber finally ran out of grip and left him vulnerable at Turn 2. Vettel managed to get the run on Bottas out of Turn 1 and then squeezed the Mercedes to the inside under braking for Turn 2. Bottas, with no front end grip from his 51-lap old soft tyres, ploughed into the back of Vettel at the apex, damaging his fornt wing as the Ferrari miraculously escaped undamaged.

Hamilton wins crazy German GP as Vettel crashes out in the rain.
Hockenheim          [22 July 2018]

Lewis Hamilton won a dramatic German Grand Prix after title rival Sebastian Vettel crashed out from the lead in wet conditions.

Hamilton, who started 14th on the grid, led home a Mercedes one-two at Hockenheim, but only after team orders (for both Ferrari and Mercedes), a rain shower and a Safety Car had mixed and re-mixed the order. Vettel's failure to finish -- after sliding off the road in Hockenheim's stadium section while running slick tyres in damp conditions -- means Hamilton has taken a 17-point lead in the drivers' championship with ten races remaining.

Although the race swung on a rain shower on lap 44, the German Grand Prix wasn't without drama up to that point. Hamilton had fought his way back into contention with a long stint on the soft tyres from 14th on the grid, while a split strategy at Ferrari saw Kimi Räikkonen, who finished third, and Vettel tripping over each other.

Vettel claims brilliant British GP win, Lewis fights back to second.
Silverstone          [8 July 2018]

Sebastian Vettel won a thrilling British Grand Prix that featured overtaking for the lead, two high-speed accidents and a brilliant fightback drive from Lewis Hamilton to second place.

Although the result wasn't what the majority of the 130,000-strong crowd had hoped for, they were treated to an afternoon of first-class entertainment as their home hero finished on the podium despite being taken out in Turn 3 by Kimi Räikkonen and dropping to the back of the field. Hamilton achieved the result with the help of a strategy gamble around a Safety Car on lap 33, and in doing so limited the deficit to Vettel in the championship to just eight points after 10 races.

Räikkonen finished third after Valtteri Bottas, who had led the race following a second Safety Car period with 11 laps remaining, dropped to fourth on a set of heavily-worn tyres.

Max Verstappen wins Austrian Grand Prix as Lewis Hamilton retires.
Spielberg          [1 July 2018]

Max Verstappen took a shock home victory for Red Bull at the Austrian Grand Prix after both Mercedes cars retired from the race with reliability issues.

Verstappen took the lead of the race thanks to a Mercedes strategy blunder just after Valtteri Bottas' retirement with a hydraulics issue. The Mercedes pit wall failed to pit Lewis Hamilton under the resulting Virtual Safety Car, which eventually relegated him down the order when he pitted under full racing speed.
A livid Hamilton retired in the closing stages as his car slowed to a halt at Turn 3 with a loss of fuel pressure.

Starting from sixth place, Sebastian Vettel wasn't able to take full advantage of title rival Hamilton's problem, but still took third directly behind Ferrari teammate Kimi Räikkonen. The podium finish returned Vettel to the lead of the championship by a single point and moved Ferrari to the top of the constructors' championship.

And those on the podium at the end – Marquez, Rins and Viñales – fought to the top in the closest top fifteen of all time.
