Lewis Hamilton claims commanding win as Nico Rosberg labours to fourth

Lewis Hamilton claimed a commanding German Grand Prix victory to go into the summer break 19 points clear of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, who could only manage fourth.

Rosberg's race unravelled from the start when he went from first to fourth by Turn 1. That left him in a battle with the Red Bull drivers and he was unable to emerge ahead at his final stop, a charge hampered by a five-second penalty for forcing Max Verstappen wide mid-way through the race.

Lewis Hamilton took the championship lead for the first time this season after beating Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg to victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Hamilton took the lead on the run down to Turn 1, setting up a tense race-long battle which he ultimately won by just 1.9s. Rosberg fell to third behind Daniel Ricciardo at Turn 1 but was back in second by the exit of Turn 2 before heaping the pressure on Hamilton though the three stints of the race.

Even when the situation looked at its worst, Márquez produced magic to take a sensational seventh Sachsenring win.

Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) was strong from the start of the race but waited until Dovizioso and Crutchlow, with whom he was battling with, had pitted for tyres to come in. As a result he came home in eighth, closing in on his teammate in the championship but losing out to Márquez once more.

Peerless Hamilton wins British GP, Rosberg under investigation

Lewis Hamilton mastered changing conditions to win a third consecutive British Grand Prix ahead of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg and Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

However, Rosberg's second place finish is under investigation after his engineer gave him instructions on how to manage a gearbox issue in the closing stages of the race. Rosberg had spent most of his race battling Max Verstappen for second position after the Red Bull driver pulled a stunning move around the outside of Becketts on lap 16 in damp conditions, but finally got the better of the Red Bull driver on lap 38 once the track had fully dried.

Hamilton wins in Austria after last-lap Rosberg clash

Lewis Hamilton claimed a dramatic last-lap victory at the Austrian Grand Prix after colliding with teammate Nico Rosberg while passing for the lead.

The pass had been brewing for several laps and Hamilton siezed the opportunity on the outside of Turn 2, with Rosberg going straight on and into his teammate. The incident wiped out Rosberg's front wing and the championship leader had to crawl to the flag, dropping to fourth behind Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkönen on the final corners.
