Lewis Hamilton secures third title with victory at U.S. Grand Prix
Austin          [25 October 2015]

Lewis Hamilton took his third world title with victory at a dramatic U.S. Grand Prix after team-mate Nico Rosberg threw away his chance of victory in the final laps of the race and finished second.

Hamilton now ranks alongside the likes of Ayrton Senna, Sir Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda in F1's record books after he secured the margin of points he needed over both Rosberg and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, who finished third. However, it was far from plain sailing with two safety cars, six changes of the lead and eight retirements during the race.

Dani Pedrosa won ahead of Lorenzo and Rossi, but Rossi will be forced to start from back of the grid in Valencia after a clash with Márquez.
Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa rode a brilliant race at the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix to take his 51st GP victory in front of 88,000 fans, with Jorge Lorenzo finishing ahead of his title rival Rossi to reduce the Doctor’s lead in the standings to just 7 points with one race left. Pedrosa led from flag to flag to win by 3.612s in hot and humid conditions (track temp. 47˚C) at the Sepang International Circuit, but his victory was overshadowed by an incredible clash between Valentino Rossi and Marc Márquez that saw the latter crash out. Race Direction reviewed the incident after the race and awarded Rossi three penalty points and he will be forced to start the final race of the season from the back of the grid.

Lewis Hamilton closes on third title with victory in Russia after Nico Rosberg retires
Sochi          [11 October 2015]

Lewis Hamilton took a big step towards his third world title with a comfortable victory at the Russian Grand Prix after Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg retired.

Rosberg's championship chances now hang by a thread after he retired from the lead on lap seven with throttle pedal issues. He has dropped to third in the standings behind Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, who finished second ahead of an impressive drive by Force India's Sergio Perez. Vettel is 66 points behind Hamilton with 100 still up for grabs over the remaining four races, meaning Hamilton can win the title if he leads home a Mercedes one-two at the US Grand Prix in Austin.
